September 01 – The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Visit Cornwall

Today, (September 01, 2016) The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge kicked off their two day ‘mini-tour’ with a visit to Cornwall.The pair visited a number of local businesses, organizations, and charities. To kick off their first stop was to Truro Cathedral where they met civic dignitaries and cathedral representatives. From their they visited Zebs, a Truro-based youth center operated by Young People Cornwall, described as a place open to all young people offering positive activities, art and music, youth cafe and social space. While on their visit they were able to meet with young people who are using the center and tour the facility. They then toured Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, a successful local business where they toured the facility and helped mark their 30th Anniversary before travelling to Newquay to visit two Duchy of Cornwall projects, Nansledan, a site that will provide future business and housing for the local area and the Tregunnel Hill project, a completed neighborhood development. The last stop of the day was to the Wave Project on Newquay’s Towan Beach, the organization uses surfing as a tool to reduce anxiety in children and improve their mental well-being. Their Royal Highness’s took the time to meet with the young people and their mentors from the charity and watched them take part in surfing and lifesaving activities.

Tomorrow William and Catherine will continue their two day ‘mini-tour’ on the Isles of Scilly.
