Kate, William, And Harry Visit Bacon’s College

If you haven’t yet gotten into the Olympic spirit, this should help: Kate Middleton aka the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Prince Harry are kicking off the games today with some sporting events of their own.

The royal threesome is at Bacon’s College, a secondary school in East London, playing sports with the kids and launching a new initiative called Coach Core. The project, aimed at London’s most impoverished areas, will provide training to talented young athletes, ages 16 through 19, who wish to become coaches.

To kick it off, the duke, duchess and the third-wheeling prince showed off their own sports skills with a slew of British kids. Prince Harry tried his hand at basketball, failing miserably (Richard Palmer of the Daily Express tweeted, “Harry missed four out of four shots. Grits his teeth”). He then joined Prince William on the soccer (er, football) field with a gang of kids, one of whom asked, “Are you two brothers?” Harry jokingly replied, “We’re not sure,” according to Palmer. (If not brothers, than at least identical fashion twins: the brothers matched to a tee.)

But the highlight was Kate, who showed off her athletic prowess even in a dress and heels. Wearing a “sporty and casual” dress from Hobbs (an old item that’s since sold out) and wedges, Kate played some table tennis (ping-pong, to us non-Olympians) and also refereed some judo.

Later, in his speech to the crowd, Prince William praised her skillz: “Catherine, on the other hand, with a tennis racquet or a hockey stick is something to behold and be aware of.”

More Old Candids Added

Hey guys ive been adding more and more candids of Kate from 2005/2006/2007. More will be added soon. Enjoy : ) I love looking at old photos of her.

Kate, William, And Harry To Attend Olympic Events

Like most of London, Prince Harry, Kate and William are excited for the 2012 Olympic Games. And they’re going to be there in person to catch the action.

Prince Harry, 27, will be attending beach volleyball events, the palace confirmed Monday.

“To see Horse Guards Parade turned into a beach is going to be amazing,” Harry told the BBC in April. “When you see something like this, the scale that it’s going to be on and the amount of people coming from all across the world, it’s going to be an exciting time.”

Harry, William, 30, and Kate, 30, are scheduled to attend several Olympic events in support of Britain.

Kate, who played field hockey during her school days, will attend hockey, sailing and tennis events. She’ll later join William to cheer on the competitors at East London’s Olympic Park.

All three will be on hand when cousin Zara Phillips competes with Britain’s equestrian squad in Greenwich.

Between them, the trio will attend more than 25 events. When they’re not cheering for their native Britain, William, Kate and Harry will be visiting athletes from around the world staying at the Olympic Village.

The young royals will kick off the games at Buckingham Palace on Thursday when they welcome the torch on its way to the stadium. They’ll then join Queen Elizabeth in hosting a celebration for visiting heads of state on Friday and then attend the glamorous Opening Ceremony.

Kate Visits The National Portrait Gallery

The Duchess of Cambridge came face to face with her own sporting performance today as she opened an exhibition of images from the 2012 Games at the National Portrait Gallery.

In an electric blue Stella McCartney dress and a gold Cartier Olympic-themed necklace featuring five rings, Kate was amused to see a photo of herself among the exhibits.

The black-and-white image taken by Jillian Edelstein shows a smiling Duchess in a Team GB “hoodie” when she visited the women’s hockey team at the Olympic Park in March.

Kate and Princes William and Harry are to throw themselves into supporting Team GB, visiting training camps and appearing at Olympic events where Britain has a chance of striking gold, including cheering on the princes’ cousin Zara Phillips in the equestrian events in Greenwich Park.

As Team GB ambassadors, they will also shine a light on workers behind the scenes, including volunteers, torch bearers and catering staff. They will also link up with future Olympic stars to ensure the long-term sporting legacy of the London Games.

Gallery director Sandy Nairne said: “We know she [the Duchess] loves taking photographs. She was very intrigued about how things got taken and why they got taken. She was on very good form and she was asking lovely questions. I think she was very pleased to see some of the torchbearers. We have only got 10 out of the 8,000.”

Marie Claire South Africa

Magazines will clearly do anything to have Kate Middleton on their cover.

Including fake a picture.

Kate has declined to appear on the covers of both British and American Vogue.

So when it came time to settle on a cover star for their August issue, Marie Claire South Africa took matters into their own hands by photoshopping an image of Prince William‘s wife.

Marie Claire SA’s cover was expressly designed to look as if the future Queen of England had struck a pose for the mag while rocking threads by famed South African designer Clive Rundle.

“Kate Middleton is, without a doubt, the world’s new style icon,” Aspasia Karras, Marie Claire SA‘s editor, explained of their “hyper-real” issue.

“We have honored her with a fan-art tribute, dressing her up in clothes by South African designers and placing her in all sorts of fun, everyday situations.”

Britian outraged by Middleton Cover

Kate Middleton has been revered for her style, her grace, her charm, ever since she first came into the royal picture several years ago. She is generally beloved by her English subjects, so when someone pokes fun at her or takes aim at the royal family, it doesn’t go over well across the pond.

That’s just what’s happening now, as a U.S.-based magazine New Republic has made Middleton their target, even going so far as to photoshop a crude picture of her on their cover which features the duchess sporting cracked yellow teeth. The headline reads, “Something’s Rotten: The Last Days Of Britain”. The issue is all about England’s decline and even takes a shot at the country’s football teams.

The image, as well as the headline, has drawn immediate backlash from those it concerns, as people in the U.K. come to the defense of the duchess and her teeth. One commenter said:

“Not cool. I am not an imperialist (not even close!), but she seems to be a genuine person. She is young, beautiful, and privileged. Apparently grave sins to many people. Yet I wonder if these are the same critics who keep up on the Kardashians, or whatever flavour of the month Hollywood squirts out. She is a person who did not deserve this low blow. Shame on them. I wouldn’t even think to read anything from them ever again.”

Many comments on the issue are similar, taking umbrage at the fact that the magazine appears to be laying all the blame for the country’s problems on Middleton’s shoulders. However, some think that perhaps the imagery, however poorly chosen, is only meant to represent a decaying system in decline.

Whatever the reason, the editors of the magazine have gotten themselves into a world of hurt with the cover. They have so far declined to comment.

Personally, i think its so rude of them to do this to gorgeous Kate’s appearance.
