Welcome to Day 5 of Royal Tour Canada! On (September 28, 2016) The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge explored MacBride Museum in downtown Whitehorse. Inside the couple took part in a story circle with local children and elders. The couple then marked their visit by sending a “telegraph to tweet” using an original telegraph. Afterwards couple met locals outside the museum at a street party.
In their next engagement of the day, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the town of Carcross. They started out their afternoon at the Carcross Commons to watch a traditional welcoming ceremony from the Carcross/Tagish First Nation. Afterwards, the duo were given a tour of the town, meet the locals, and participate in a flurry of activities including painting a totem pole. They then made an unplanned stop at the White Pass steam train at the foot of Montana Mountain. Lastly, the pair met with members of the The Single Track to Success mountain bikers project.
